In tune with: Penelope Robin

What’s your name and who are you?

My name is Penelope Robin and I’m a singer-songwriter from Miami Florida. I’m currently living in Bogota, Colombia and I absolutely love it! I’m a dreamer and a very hard worker. I love working hard so my dreams can become reality.

We’ve asked you to create a playlist of tracks that have inspired your musical journey so far, can you tell us a bit about it?

This playlist that I’ve created consists of many different genres. I have some Bruno Mars, Machine Gun Kelly, Feid, Cavetown, all the way to Green Day. It’s a musical adventure. All of these artists have a special place in my heart. Even though they all sound different they have their own spice that really brings a joyful sound to your ears and body. The reason why everything is so crazy and there’s so many different genres is because at the end of the day that’s what I love. That’s what I want to make my music sound like, I want my music to have a mix of everything and for people to enjoy the crazy mix of these musical genres.

If the playlist you created had to be the soundtrack to a film, what film would that be?

It would have to be one of my favourite Disney movies, Zootopia, probably because this movie is a place where anyone can live as prey or predator – Hahahah The truth is that this movie has a really special place in my heart because it talks about how we can live in a world with people that might be different from us and that’s a great thing. In the movie there’s so many different animals, just like there is so much variety in music. In the playlist I created there are so many different genres of music, but it all comes together somehow like a perfect musical melting pot.

What do you imagine most people are doing whilst they listen to your music?

I imagine that hopefully they are enjoying it, and listening to the lyrics and connecting in some special way.

How would you describe your music in three words?

Empowering, unique, energetic!

What does the rest of 2023 hold for you?

The rest of 2023 is a creative year. I’m recording and writing every day and doing what I love. My goal is to do many shows in front of people, in front of my fans and see their beautiful faces.
