‘Summer: a prologue,’ is a series about my experience with SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder. According to the NHS, only 12% of people are fully aware of the existence of SAD and 1 in 15 people across the UK actually suffers from it. I wanted this series to encapsulate the feeling of melancholy and loneliness during winter but also a gradual feeling of hope through colour as we approach sunnier times. It’s about looking forward to 10pm sunsets and boozey nights in the park. It’s about appreciating your mates in every capacity during this time. It’s about reminding ourselves that as the sun sets later day by day, we’re closer to that feeling we’ve all been craving - complete and total liberation.
